Turned My Life Around

I got my treatment from Serenity View; I feel comfortable and, with confidence, I can say that it turned my life around for good. I spent a month there and it was a very rewarding experience. I rate my therapist as excellent; she provided me with tools to better understand who I was. My therapist is the Clinical Director and I was fortunate to have therapy and counseling from her. It was really an eye-opener for me. The therapy staff is excellent and has in-depth knowledge and understanding of the problems that addicts and alcoholics face.

Some of the therapists also act as family counselors and are highly qualified, and get involved and sincerely work with the patient and families to help reach a harmonious, mutual understanding by setting up phone calls and family days. The treatment program is rigorous with AA- and NA-meetings, excellent counselors who know the 12-Step program, class book studies, sharing past events in life with other patients, and 12-Step work.

The patients have their daily morning and evening meetings with a staff member monitoring the meeting but not interfering. There are doctors and nursing staff who are kind and very well-informed. The lectures on nutrition are excellent, along with a gym and trainers. The cafeteria staff is excellent with providing different food choices and more importantly, dishing out generous portions.

There is a staff [member] to help the patient locate a sober living place to continue the ongoing successful recovery process after the treatment. Jena is good at keeping track of the alumni, and she sends out an invitation for alumni to participate in the activities in Sunspire Health after the patients have left the treatment. I will recommend it to anyone who is interested in transforming their lives for the better.

Showed Me Love and Compassion

When I first arrived at Serenity View, I was broken, confused, and scared to death. I am not a small person, and I often use this to my advantage. The staff never batted an eye and accepted me as I was. They showed me love and compassion even when I had none for myself.

What I experienced was a long journey of learning things about myself and how to accept and get beyond all of my hang-ups and setbacks. I was also introduced to AA. [In AA], I discovered there is fun and excitement in recovery through the 12-Steps and having a Higher Power. At Sunspire, I was surrounded by a loving and caring staff who led by example and showed me that my recovery is an action and gave me the tools for my success.

Thank you Sunspire for saving my life, my spirit, and my all!
